How to play Glide
Glide is pool on a round table. Six pockets sit around the rim, seven discs are yours and seven are your opponent's, and the black Eclipse waits for last. It's free in your browser, on your phone or your computer: play the computer, a friend on the same phone, or players online.
Play Glide nowThe goal
Sink all seven discs of your colour, then call a pocket and sink the Eclipse in it. The first disc you sink after the break makes that colour yours.
Shooting
- Press on the striker (the white disc), pull back and let go, like a slingshot: the shot goes the opposite way. Pull further for a harder shot; let go next to the striker to cancel.
- Pull slowly sideways for fine aim: the aim turns a fraction of a degree at a time.
- Guided aim shows where the striker will touch a disc and where both will go. Pro aim shows only the striker's path.
- Turn the table by dragging its rim or twisting with two fingers. Pinch to zoom. Tap the striker to line up behind it.
Rules
- The break: place the striker anywhere outside the ring and break the rack. An Eclipse sunk on the break goes back to the centre.
- Your turn goes on while you sink your own discs.
- Fouls: sinking the striker or touching nothing gives your opponent the striker in hand: they place it anywhere.
- Hit your own colour first (the Eclipse, once your seven are down). Touching anything else first passes the turn.
- The Eclipse: once your seven are down, tap a pocket to call it, then sink the Eclipse there. Sinking it early, in another pocket, or with the striker following it in loses the game.
- Every turn has a shot clock. When it runs out, your opponent gets the striker in hand.
